A Powerful Way To Heal From Within

What if you could release stress, heal your body, eliminate anxiety and other mood disorders, sleep more soundly, etc. without taking a medication?  It is entirely possible!

What can do this?  Meditation!!

I understand if you think I am crazy but I have seen it work myself and there is a large body of evidence that shows the power of meditation in self healing.

Meditation has been shown to decrease your sympathetic nervous system-the system that is behind your fight or flight response.  When your sympathetic nervous system is overactive it can cause anxiety, insomnia, irritability, high blood pressure, etc.

By meditating on a regular basis, it has been shown to strengthen your memory, focus, emotional control, and decision making.  There have also been numerous accounts of people healing themselves from a variety of disorders/diseases such as fractures, autoimmune disease, heart disease, and even cancer.

The power of the mind is incredible and it makes sense to utilize it.  While I can’t promise that it will heal everything that ails you, it will definitely reduce your stress, increase your overall level of functioning, and enhances your feeling of wellbeing.  Isn’t that worth meditating regularly??

Meditation is easy to start incorporating into your life.  You can meditate for as little as 3-5 minutes and still reap benefits.  It is advisable to add relaxing music to deepen the effects of meditation.

Here are some basic tips on starting your meditation practice:

  • Set aside the time for meditation
  • Find a quiet place
  • Sit, stand, or lay in a comfortable position
  • Close your eyes
  • Breathe in and out slowly and deeply
  • As thoughts enter your mind let them go and refocus your mind on your breath

You may use a guided meditation to enhance your meditation.  A guided meditation is where you listen to someone talking you through a meditation.  It can help your mind to stay focused.

There are apps you may use for guided meditation.  Joe Dispenza is also an incredible source of guided meditations–you may purchase them on his website.  There are also meditation groups you can join and a variety of you tube videos with meditations.

It does not matter how you choose to meditate. What matters is that you do it.

As you start meditating, start with a time period that is easy for you to fit in your life. 3-5 minutes is perfectly fine to start with. Once it is a habit, you can easily have 40 minutes a day of meditation to enhance the benefits of meditation.  That time frame greatly enhanced the long term benefits of meditation.  But any amount of meditation is better than no meditation.

Meditation is one of the easiest things that you can do for the health of your mind and body.  Start today with a few minutes.  You will be amazed at how much better you will feel.  As you continue to meditate on a daily basis you will see increased benefits that show up in your mind and your body.
