Stem Cell Therapy Facts

Umbilical cord blood is the best source of stem cells that can provide regeneration. Our office only uses cord blood from a company that gets them with consent from live births. The stem cells are extensively evaluated for safety and purity.

Doctors are turning to stem cell therapy more and more. This type of therapy is still considered experimental even though there have been numerous successful patient responses. Insurance will not cover this treatment.

The stem cell procedure is done in the office and only takes about an hour. You sit comfortably in a padded IV chair that can recline. An IV is started by an RN and you are given some hydration fluid before the stem cells are infused. If you have a Sulfa allergy, you are pre-medicated with Benadryl to avoid a reaction.

We advise that you avoid strenuous activity and the use of anti-inflammatory medications for two weeks after the treatment. You may feel a bit flu like for up to five days after the IV therapy. Then you should start feeling better and improve in your overall functioning.
